Waikiekie-Waiotira
The April meeting was held at Mrs J. Thomas’s home, Waiotira, when there was a fair attendance. The president, Mrs E. Hilford, presided. The roll call, “Should I open my husband’s letters, and why?” was well answered. Two competitions were held, both showing good entries. Results: Bottle of peaches, Mrs L. Yearbury and Mrs Don Walker, equal 1, Mrs L. Grantham, 2; bottle of pears, Mrs L. Grantham T, Mrs F. Berridge 2. A demonstration of bouquet making, given by Mrs H. Yearbury, proved most instructive and was much appreciated. A dainty luncheon was served by the hostesses, Mrs J. Thomas, Mrs H. Yearbury and Miss D. Mclntosh.
