Portland Club’s Season Opened
The Portland Golf Club opened the season on Saturday. There was a large attendance of members. The club had lost a few members during the year, but others were joining'. Cheers were called for Mr A. Lindsay, who is in the R.A.F. in Blenheim, and Mr J. Purchase, who is in Egypt. Mr T. Curran then drove the first ball. A roiaid of nine hoi ;s was played. The new committee is: President, Mr T. Curran; Secretary, Mr R. Wilson; committee, Mesdames L. McLean and L. Adams .and Messrs P. Colvin, Henry and Anderson.
