U.S. Plane Sales 225 Per Cent. Up
WASHINGTON. April 27. Sales to foreign nations of United Stales aeroplanes in the first quarter of 1940 totalled G 6,000,000 dollars, or 225 per cent above the same period in 1939. France bought 32,000,000 dollars’ worth; Britain, 7,000,000; Australia, 7,000,000; Canada, 4,000,000; Sweden, 3,000,000; and Turkey, 1,000,000.
