Maungatapere
A small but enthusiastic annual meeting of the Maungatapere Institute was held in the hall. Officers elected were; President, Mrs Grove; vice-presidents, Mesdames Fraser and Bell; secretary, Mrs Russell (re-elected); treasurer, Mrs I. Wilson; committee, Mesdames Ellis, D. Morrison, W. L. Morrison, Rowe, A. P. Edge, V. Edge and E. Johnson. The points prize for the previous year was won by Mrs Russell, with Mrs Sloane second and Mrs Rowe third. It was decided that during the ensuing year W.I. meetings would be held every alternate month. For the June meeting each member is requested to bring a suitable gift to be included in a parcel for the troops. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Bell and Rowe.
