The directors of the Taringamutu Totara Sawmills, Ltd., have declared an interim dividend of 3 per cent., payable on June 1. The interim dividend last year was at the same rate. Alloy Steel (N.Z.). Ltd., have declared a final dividend of 31 per cent., making 7 per cent, for the year, plus a bonus of 1/- a share, payable on May 18. The distribution is unchanged. A report from Gisborne says that a gain of nearly 400 feet in a week is indicated in a bulletin of the New Zealand Petroleum Company, Ltd., in connection with the Morere No. 1 well at Waikokopu. The bulletin reads: "The Morere No. 1 well lias reached a depth of 2300 loot. Hal’d shale formation is continuing, and the well shows no deviation from the vertical." The Bank of New South Wales interim quarterly dividend is unchanged at 6/- a share, Australian currency, payable on May 30.
