“Kiss Of Death” Girl As Mass Murder Witness

“The “Kiss of Death” girl is the latest of five more witnesses found for the prosecution against the Brooklyn mass murder syndicate. She is blonde Evelyn Mittleman, who is alleged to have lured three gangsters to violent deaths. The underworld has threatened 1 death to witnesses who give evidence against 25 men and women held for alleged complicity in the syndicate. The syndicate is believed to have taken 280 lives in the United States in eight years. It took a share in the inI surance on persons murdered. Hired gunmen did the killing. Crime’s Pirate Flag. Instructing the special grand jury which will hear evidence against the gang. Judge Franklin Taylor said: — “Citizens have been slain on the thresholds of their homes. Many have been ‘taken for a ride’ and their lifeless bodies, riddled with lead, have been dumped in the streets. Others have been shot from speeding cars. “An orgy of assassination has been carried out at summer resorts, where mute evidences of tragedy have been concealed in lakes and forests. “The skull-and-crossbones ensign of the underworld must come down.”
