Woman Of 102 Banishes Mirrors

Granny Kirk, of Owmby, near Market Rasen, England, who was 102 recently, gave away all the mirrors in her beautiful old stone house when she was 90 and has steadfastly refused to look into anyone else’s mirror since. She does not want to see that she has grown old gracefully or that, apart from the few wrinkles, her complexion is almost as clear as ever. “I don’t want to see myself now that I am an old woman,” Granny said. “Why should I?” Mrs Kirk has no use for the makeup of the modern girl and likes the plain things of life. She saw the last of the stage coaches and remembers the railways coming to Lincolnshire. She has never had influenza .and has come through the present winter without the slightest touch of cold.
