The daily mail for Kaikohe will in future close at 5.30 p.m. instead of 1.30 p.m. P.O. HOLIDAY ARRANGEMENTS. Thursday, April 25 (Anzac Day):— Postal branch closed in all sections; telegraph branch closed; telephone exchange open continuously. On Wednesday. April 24, the last mail for Auckland and southern offices will close at 2.15 p.m. NEW POSTAL RATES FOR LETTERS BY ORDINARY MEANS: Mails for Kaeo, Kerikeri, Mangonui, Totara North and Waimate North will in future close at 5.30 p.m. instead of at 1.30 p.m., the Whangarei Post Office advises. Inland.—2d first oz., Id each additional half ounce. British Countries, Egypt, Iraq.—2d first half ounce; Id each additional hali ounce. Foreign Countries (except Egypt and Iraq).—3d first half ounce; Id each additional half ounce. BY AIR MAIL: Inland.—3d each half ounce.

CORRESPONDENCE FOR EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.

The following postage rates have been fixed upon for correspondence addressed to New Zealand and '.all other soldiers, sailors and airmen of the British Empire on* Active Servic'e. Letters (by surface transport).—The inland letter rate (2d for the first ounce and Id for each succeeding half ounce) will apply. By air on Empire air service.—l/6 each half ounce (no change). Newspapers.—The British Empire rate (j£d for each 3ozs.) will apply. Parcels.—Standard charges as under: Parcels not more than 31b. in weight, 1/6;. parcels not more than 71b. in weight (maximum), 3/-.
