Mrs. F. E. Cullen, WellKnown Otamatea Lady
OBITUARY
The death occurred late on Saturday night of Mrs Emma Cullen, wife of Mr F." E. Cullen, of Maungatauroto. Mrs Cullen had been in failing health for some years.
Born in Lancashire, England, GG years ago, Mrs Cullen arrived in New Zealand at the age of 17 and two years later went to Maungaturoto, marrying Mr Cullen 47 years ago. Aithough nut taking as prominent a part in public life as her husband, Mrs Cullen was always actively associated with every movement that had for its object the advancement of the district where she lived so long. tier sterling character had made for her a wide circle of friends who respected her for her many fine qualities. For more than 40 years Mrs Cullen not only served on the choir of the Congregational Church but also took an active part in every movement associated with that church. Of the eight children born to Mrs Cullen, seven—four sons and three daughters—survive, as well as Mr Cullen. Her death will be mourned over the whole of Northland where she was well-known.
