Kaitaia Dahlia Show

The Kaitaia Anglican Ladies' Guild held their annual dahlia show in the A. and P. hall on Friday, and had every reason to be pleased with its success. The entries were good, and the bright and colourful display was much admired by one c.f the largest crowds that has ever attended the annual event. The ladies, under the presidency of Mrs Harold Timbers, and with Mrs Nilson as secretary, had worked very hard, not ip as far as the show itself was concerned, but in arranging for a number of stalls, the sales from which added very materially to. the total financial result. In every respect the spirit of co-operation was apparent, all working in unison for one end, the strengthening of church finances. Mesdames Reynolds, R. Lewis and Ron Matthews were the stewards, and the judging was done by Mr T. Baker (dahlias) and Mesdames Geard and Jameson (cut flowers). The luncheon and afternoon tea were in charge of Mesdames Marsh and Beard, who had a number of helpers. Others who iiad charge of different departments were: Cake stall, Mesdames Taaffe and H. Mclntosh; produce stall, Mesdames Bell and Allen and Miss Brent; sweets stall, Mrs Miller and Miss Mary Puckey. Mr W. H.
