Mr A. Marsden Woods left by the express today for Nelson, as one of the representatives of the Auckland Diocese at the General Synod of the Church of the Province of N.Z. Te Kaka Porowini, one of the best known natives of Northland and after whom Porowini Avenue, Whangarei, was named, has been seriously indisposed for some weeks, and has returned to his birthplace near Kaikohe. Mr. Porowini has resided in Whangarei for many years. Senior-Sergeant A. Henderson, of Whangarei, who has been on special duty at Waitangi, resumed duty at the Whangarei Police Station this morning. Senior-Sergeant C. Harley, who has been relieving at Whangarei, returns to his station at Newmarket.
