’Change; Auckland Gas Shares Strong
[Special to “Northern Advocate ”] AUCKLAND, This Day. Auckland Gas were strong on the Stock Exchange today, following the announcement of the company’s proposal to halve the capital and make a debenture issue. Buyers for the fully-paids came in at 16/8, 2d above the recent market price, and the contributing issue had sales at an advance figure of 9d, with buyers still in at the new figure. Kauris, after a gain of 9d, were still on offer at £l/4/3, and Wilsons Cements had reduced selling limits at 19/3. Offers were raised for McKenzie’s, New Zealand Paper Mills, Robinson’s Ice Cr£am, and M.K. Manufacturers, reflecting a firm demand for New Zealand shares, but Dominion Breweries appeared slightly easier. Australian industrials were irregular, Electrolytic Zincs being dull. Mt. Lyells fluctuated, while Broken Hill Proprietary’s were available at yesterday’s sale price. Sales completed at the noon call today were: available at yesterday’s sale price.
