Alleged Fatally Injured In Fight Between Maoris
t Special to- “Northern Advocate ”] KAITAIA, This Day. On Saturday afternoon, a fight tool* place between a number of natives on the main road one mile north of Houhora. As a result, it is alleged, one of the natives, named Mane Norman, 25, married, received severe injuries to his head, from which he died at his home at Ngataki early on Sunday morning. A post-mortem examination was carried out by Dr. Rule and an inquest was opened at Ngataki on Sundajr afternoon'before the District Coroner (Mr A. W. Watt). After evidence of identification by Norman’s wife, the inquest was adjourned sine die. Detective Finlay, in conjunction with Constable Gawler, made certain investigations, and as a result two natives were taken into custody and were to be brought before the court at Houhora this morning.
