SITUATIONS VACANT ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY npo fill vacancies in the Royal New Zealand Artillery, 69 recruits are required. The period of engagement js five years, which may be extended. Applicants must fulfil the following requirements: fa) Be British subjects. (b) Be unmarried. (c) Be betw r een the ages of 19 and 25 years, A recruit must have attained the age of 19 years, but not passed his 25th birthday on 9th March. 1940. (d) Be physically fit for Active Service. fe) Be not less than sft. Tin. in height (in socks). (f) Have passed the 6th Standard of education or its equivalent. Apply at the nearest Defence Office by noon oi\ 16th February. 1940. 466 NEW ZEALAND NAVAL FORCES LONG SERVICE (NOT for duration of the war only) ENTRY OF STOKERS, SEAMEN BOYS AND SHORT SERVICE SEAMEN STOKERS are required for entry in May. 1940. Candidates for entry as Stokers should be between the ages of 18 and 22 on 3rd May, 1940. Applications for entry must reach the Defence Office NOT LATER THAN 15th MARCH, 1940. Twenty-two SEAMEN BOYS are required- for entry in May, 1940. Candidates for entry as Seamen Boys should be between the ages of 15 years 3 months and 16 years 3 months on 31st May, 1940. Candidates within one month of these age limits may be considered in exceptional circumstances. Applications for entry must reach the Defence Office NOT LATER THAN 12th APRIL, 1940. Twenty SHORT SERVICE ORDINARY SEAMEN are required for entry in June. 1940. Candidates for entry should be between the ages of 171 and 23 on 14th June, 1940. Service is for six years in the New Zealand Naval Forces, and six years in the Reserve, with an option of transferring to continuous service if recommended.
