701 Northern Maori Enlistments
In the Northland area there have been a total of 701 enlistments for the Maori Battalion. Of these men 298 have been passed as fit, 87 as temporarily unfit, 53 as permanently unfit, while 263 men have yet to be medically examined. Of the fit men, 224 have been despatched to camp, 20 are available, 50 have been classed as in reserved occupations, and four enlistments have been withdrawn.
