Permit me to correct an impression that may be gathered from your subleader of the 9th inst. It might be inferred from NAILS IN CENTRAL the last paraPARK CHUTE. graph of the article that the direction to inspect the chutes every morning is an innovation caused purely through the recent act of vandalism. For the information of the public and particularly of parents of children attending the park, I might mention that the chutes have been inspected by the Parks Superintendent or his assistant every morning since their erection. It was this early inspection, on Tuesday morning which revealed the act of this particular pervert.—D. J. THOMSON, Chairman; Parks Committee.
