250 Bombs, Little Damage
(Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, January 29. Anti-aircraft fire drove off two raids on Helsingfors. Other planes bombed 10 localities in Helsingfors County, and also Salo and coastal towns on the Gulf of Bothnia.
The raiders dropped 250 bombs, but there were only minor casualties and damage. The Russians used brutal methods again, machine-gunning worshippers leaving a village church, and also a hospital and a passenger train.
Russian planes subjected Turku to an unprecedented raid all the morning, killing 28, wounding 46 and setting fire to houses. The Finns shot do™ four raiders.
