"Advocate” Office, Water St., Whangarei. Tuesday. January' 30, 1940.
HELLO EVERYBODY— The great adventure’s over,’ the travellers have all returned safe and sound, but I’m quite certain the tongues are still wagging and will go on wagging for some time to come. Kupe’s is, although as I expected, he was too busy to see much of the Exhibition. But he has told me how proud he is of all the party and of the impressions they made in Wellington. He told me of the thrilling farewell at Wellington when so many important, friendly people came to say good-bye—proof positive that the invasion was one of the most successful ever made on a city. The S.P. was very pleased to see his daddy and, incidentally, managed to cut that bothersome tooth the day after Kupe’s return. Now I’m looking forward to piles of letters to see just how the travellers really enjoyed their trip. Don’t disappoint me, please. And a very big “thank you” for my share in the present. The S.P! is having a piece of that, too. Cheerio till next week.
Princess Northland Tribe.
