Britons’ Hardships In Conquered Poland
LONDON, January 24.
The Prime Minister (Mr Chamberlain), in the House of Commons today, said that 74 Britons and 368 British subjects from Palestine in Germanised and Russianised Poland are suffering hardships. Germany had refused facilities for the supply of food. The Red Cross Society was examining the situation in the Russianised area.
More than £II,OOO has been contributed to the Polish Relief Fund through special commtitees organised in India, Australia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Jamaica, Mauritius and Malta.
