Survey On Chamberlain Popularity
The British Institute of Public Opinion, which has recorded regularly Mr Chamberlain’s popularity with the voting public since October, 1938, states that snice the outbreak of war, Mr Chamberlain’s popularity had shown a marked rise, but that there was a fall of four per cent in December.
The monthly percentages since May of last year have been: —June, 55; July, 53; August, 53; September (the month in which the war began), 55; October, 65; November, 68; December, 64.
