Miss Hilda Stone and party, from Auckland, recently were the guests of Mrs G. Allcock at “Te Puriri.” They also toured the North, spending .a short time at Ngawha Springs, in which they were greatly interested. Master Mac Allcock, of Auckland, is spending the recess on the home farm, “Te Puriri.” Word has been received that Miss Marjorie Gillingham, who is on the staff of the Gisborne Hospital, has passed her State examination. Mrs C. A. Purdon, an old resident of the district, and now of Auckland, recently visited her daughter, Mrs J. Morris, and son, Mr J. M. Purdon. Visiting their aunt, Mrs A. W. Teller, are the Masters McAuley, from Thames.
Master lan Crawford is staying with his uncle, Mr Alf. Crawford. Holidaying at Ruakaka are the Goodenough family and Mr J. T. Walker.
Mrs F. Litt and family are holidaying at One Tree Point. Mrs F. G. Hill and family, of Thames, are visiting the former’s parents, Mr and Mrs J. A. Wenzlick. Mr T. E. Porter, who has been spending a holiday at Parua Bay, has returned home for a few days. Miss Dorothy Wenzlick •is back home from the Thames. A Maungakaramea lady, who has been doing the splendid work of knitting a pair of socks for the soldiers, is wondering who will come forward with the second pair!
