Six Men Found In Hotels Unlawfully
Charges of having been found unlawfully on licensed premises after closing hours were brought against six men in the Whangarei Court this morning. Frederick Kinsella, John Lovelady and Anthony Mischewski, charged with having been found unlawfully on the premises of the Commercial Hotel after closing hours, were each fined £ 1 and 10/ costs by the magistrate (Mr Ferner). Harold Barton and Ralph James Shandley, who were charged with having been found unlawfully on the premises of the Whangarei Hotel, were each find £1 and costs, while Gordon Ruff, who was similarly charged and who was stated to have been fined previously for a similar offence, was fined £ 1 5/ and costs.
Constable Davis said that the licensee of the Whangarei Hotel said the men had had no drink there, and he had told them to leave the premises.
