Himmler Arranges Plebiscite in Tyrol
(Received 1.30 p.m.) ROME, December 21
Signor Mussolini received the chief of the Nazi Gestapo (Himmler) who is visiting Rome. The news agency says they had a long and cordial conversation. Himmler and the Italian Under-Sec-retary of the Interior, signed an agreement under which Germans resident in the Tyrol will vote by December 31 on whether they wish to return to Germany or assume Italian citizenship. It is reliably stated that, although some newspapers do not mehtion the arrival he is undestood to be arranging the liquidation of holdings of Germans, who are to be repatriated at the end of the month.
