Air-Raid Defences For United States
WASHINGTON, December 20
The Secretary for War (Mr Harry H. Woodring) announces that air-raid alarms and ant'i-aircraft units are being organised as a new arm of the national defences.
The decision to segregate them from offensive air units, he said, was to conform with current popular European practice. They could operate more efficiently as a separate branch of the Army.
