The death has occurred at Nelson of Dr. W. F. Currie, of Richmond, aged 47. Dr. Currie qualified in 1916 and saw service in the Great War.
The only son of the High Commissioner for New Zealand, in London (Mr Jordan). Mr William Jordan, has joined a Royal Air Force officers’ training unit.
A through passenger to Australia by the Mariposa is Mr Charles J> Burchall, K.C., the recently appointed High Commissioner for Canada in Australia. He said that the Canadian Government had recently decided to appoint High Commissioners to all the principal Empire countries. “It will not be long before a similar office is created in New Zealand,” he added.
