Long-Distance Run For Whangarei Ambulance
Long-distance service of the Whan* garei Y.M.C.A. Division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade was demonstrated yesterday. A call was received to transport a patient from Kerikeri to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital in Auckland. With Messrs. W. J. Court and Halley in charge, the ambulance left Whangarei at 5.45 a.m. yesterday, travelled to Kerikeri, and proceeded to Auckland via Whangarei. At Whangarei on the downward journey, Mr Court was replaced by Mr H. McMasters. The ambulance arrived back at the Whangarei station at 8 p.m., after covering 355 miles.
