Sharks Plentiful At Parengarenga
Sharke are very numerous in parengarenga Harbour, and some large specimens have been caught lately.
• Some of them are of the “Make Taniwhr,” species. Some of them would weigh about 500 to 600 lbs.
A swordfish recently entered the harbour and was shot by a Maori. It was about six feet long, and had a sword close on three feet long. .None of the old Maoris have any recollection of swordfish having entered the harbour previously.
