Australia Belligerent, Menzies Tells Nazis
(Received 11.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day,
The Prime Minister (Mr R. G. Mepzies) fast night inaugurated the overseas short-wave broadcasts, which will be relayed by the 8.8. C. The keynote of his address, which was directed to Germany, was that Australia was definitely belligerent along with the Mother Country .and the other Dominions, and certainly not a “benevolent neutral,” as German propaganda would have the rest of the world believe. The ideas for which Britain was fighting were those which actuated Australia’s entry into the war.
