Maui Pomare’s Troubles

The Government motorship, Maui Pomare, which has been undergoing engine overhaul in Wellington, met with -■& series of mishaps during the past two days. On Monday she left her berth to test the engines, which later gave trouble, necessitating the services of a tug to assist her back.
The .Maui Pomare went out again yesterday morning, but the engine trouble recurred, and anchor was dropped, near Point Halswell to enable adjustments to be made. The strong tide and high wind, however, gradually forced her towards the shore. , . . .. . .
The. captain signalled for a tug, but two were required to bring the ship back to her berth.
No damage was done,
