All Comedy Cast In New Plaza Feature
Hillbilly hilarity is the dominant note of “Swing Your Lady,” one of the two features on the Plaza Theatre’s new programme which last evening commenced a two-night season. Ed Hatch (Humphrey Bogart) a wrestling promoter, Joe Skopapoulous (Nat Pendleton), his trainer (Frank McHugh), and his second (Allen Jenkins), arrive in a hillbilly section of Missouri on a barnstorming tour, but nobody there wants to wrestle. Then they meet a lady blacksmith (Louise Fazenda) and her boy friend (Daniel Boone Savage) and, although romances become complicated when the wrestler takes a fancy to the lady blacksmith, the wrestling business starts to pick up. The second feature, “Torchy Blane in Panama,” is another of the series of .adventures which befall the breezy girl reporter. Lola Lane and Paul Kelly replace Glenda Farrell and Barton Mac Lane for this adventure with a gang of bank robbers.
