The death has occurred in Auckland of Mr David Robert Caldwell, in his 85th year. Mr Caldwell was associated for a long time with the commercial life of New Zealand. Messrs R. E. Champtaloup (touring manager of the A.A.), A. Anderson, S. Ringer and R. Whitley, of the touring department, are visiting Northland compiling the latest data regarding roads and touring conditions, especially in the Russell and Paihia districts. The death occurred on Thursday of Mr Charles Bayly, of the Wairoa Estate, Palma. Aged 72, Mr Bayly was a well-known farmer in the Bay and Far North. The son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Bayly, of Waitara, he took over the Wairoa Estate, which ad* joins the Waitangi Estate, some years ago. He leaves a widow and two children. <
