Requests for power in various parts of the district were again before the North Auckland Electric Power Board at its monthly meeting in Dargaville yesterday. The secretary (Mr S, P. D.ay) reported that he had written to Mr R. G. Hosking informing him that, owing to the import restrictions, it was doubtful if the reticulation of Waipu and Lang’s beaches could be undertaken before the middle of next year. Mr Scott Davidson had been informed that it might be possible to reticulate the Parua Bay district within six months. A letter had been sent to Mr A. G. Attwood informing him that the board would probably proceed towards the Parua B,ay district within six months and the Waikaraka district would then be dealt with. Several Petitions.

A letter to Mr G. F. Brake had stated that if the Titoki settlers were now prepared to provide the necessary guarantees for a supply of power the matter would be placed before the board. The letters were approved. One Tree Point Petition.

A petition from 16 settlers of One Tree Point requesting a supply _of power in accordance with promises given was received by the board. The petition stated that the guarantees would be cancelled unless the line was continued. The request was referred to the engineer (Mr T. R. Overton). Reporting on a request from Mr W. J. Moore for the reticulation of the Waiotira-Waikiekie districts t© be proceeded with as soon as possible, the engineer stated that the work was proceeding. Settlers Uneasy.

A letter from Mr John M. Steedman informed the board that a petition from 80 potential consumers in the Otaika and Puwera requesting a supply of power, had been forwarded to the board some time ago. Mr Steedman said his committee was uneasy, fearing the area had been overlooked, and consequently suggesting that a canvass be made at an early date. The canvass had been comniencecl a fortnight ago, stated the engineer. When a petition was received from 27 settlers in the Kaikou Settlement requesting a supply of power, the chairman (Mr J. A.
