Another £4O Electricity Guarantee Wanted From Riponui Area
Last Tuesday, Mr F. Elliott told the North Auckland Power Board yesterday, he had been advised by a board inspector that the guarantee requirements in the Riponui and Tanekaha districts had been met. Yesterday, however, he had been surprised and disappointed to learn that the guarantee was still too low. Settlers, he said, had met the position very fairly.
The amount required was another £4O. Mr J. N. McCarroll: You will soon get that. Mr Elliott: They have been squeezed pretty tight, but it puts me in a very invidious position. “I have now to advise my district that another £4O is required.” The engineer said he could net understand his inspector having made a statement like that. The deficiency was between the school and the Otakairangi Bridge.
