No Rush For Petrol In Whangarei
The restrictions on the purchase of benzine ceased last evening, and this morning motorists were able to buy unlimited quantities without having to produce coupons or licenses.
The majority of consumers apparently had enough petrol to provide for their needs, as no rush was experienced at Whangarei garages this morning.
Immediate keen demand for petrol is not anticipated and it is felt that trade will gradually return to normal.
Motor and allied trades are not as busy as is customary at this time of the year, and doubts are expressed whether the usual pre-Christmas work will be offering.
