Former Maori Footballer’s Death
KAIKOHE. This Day
The death occurred on Sunday of Wiremu Temaunga, 69. who was a well-known identity in the Hokianga and north.
Better known to pakeha and Maori as Billie White, the deceased was in his youth a fine wing-forward. As a representative of the Wanna Club, he played numerous games in the south, and on one occasion travelled to Auckland with a team of Waima native;:.
Until the time of his do'ath, Temaunga took a keen interest in football in the Hokianga and Middle North.
He was buried at Waima on Wednesday.
