Whangarei Accepts Restrictions Calmly
The Whangarei Borough Council has assured the Government of its closest co-operation in guarding the public utilities of the town.
When the council met last night a confidential circular was received from the Minister of Internal Affairs. The circular was considered in committee, and a motion on the foregoing lines passed.
Copies of the Department’s circular are to be made available to the borough engineer and the electrical engineer, who are to be instructed, to carry out to fullest degree the council’s undertaking.
Copies of the circular are also to be made available to the controllers of committees of the Whangarei Emergency Precautions Organisation set up last week.
