Sawmills To Stay Opes On Fridays
[Per Press Association. Copyright.] GREYMOUTH, This Day. Sawmillcrs have cancelled their decision to close the mills on Fridays. A sudden demand has been experienced for certain classes of timber for use in urgent Government works. Although, the demand for various classes of timber is still unbalanced, it is recognised the Government demands must be met with the least possible delay. All members of the association have been urged to assist in the national emei’goncy, resulting in the cancellation of idle days.
