Motor Vehicles Impressment

Department, to impress motor vehicles that .arc required by the armed services or for any national emergency requirements. According to a statement issued yesterday, however, it is not anticipated that it will be necessary to impress many motor vehicles. Owners of vehicles which will be taken over will be served with warrants of impressment and be required to deliver impressed vehicles at specified centres on dates set out in the warrant. The regulations prescribe that vehicles may either betaken on behalf of the Crown or on a hiring basis.
