Prices. —After consultation with the Food Defence Department in Britain, the London Provision Exchange has requisitioned the trade to hold prices of butter and cheese at their present level until further notice.
Windsors. —An Independent Cable Service message from Cannes states that the Duke of Windsor has offered his esrvices to the Government. The Duches sis offering to volunteer for war work.
Greetings.— His Majesty the King has telegraphed greetings and assurances of the fullest co-operation against aggression to the Presidents of the French Republic and of Poland. Chamberlain. —The Prime Minister, Mr Chamberlain, broadcast via a French wireless station early this morning “a proclamation” to the German people, in which he said Britain’s quarrel was not with the German. people, but with the regime.
