Drowned When Dinghy Capsized

[Special to “Northern Advocate”'] WHAKATANE, This Day.

One man was drowned and another reached the shore after a desperate struggle in heavy surf 'at the mouth of the Tarawera River yesterday morning. The man drowned was Mr William David Parsons, aged 32, with no children, of Matata. The other m'an was Mr Edward Lass, aged about 30, unmarried and Q recent arrive! from England. , The men were in a dinghy, and were capsized in a heavy sea which was running at the time. Mr Parsons is stated to have been a fair swimmer, but he had a knee injury which was likely to cause cramp.
