Jones Beats Cox

In a disappointing exhibition of wa’cstling, Paul Jones beat King Kong Cox at the Auckland Town Hall on Saturday night. Jones took a fall with a figure-four hook body-scissors and press in the fourth round, and the referee brought proceedings to a finish early in the seventh round, when he awarded a penalty fall against Cox for persistent use of the stranglehold. Cox weighed 17-stone and Jones 1G stone 9 lbs.

Woods gained the first in the fourth round, following a succession of elbow jolts and a body-press, and Boesch evened in the last round after drop-kicking Woods and pinning him.
