Festival Adjudicator Has Studied in London

Miss Anita Webster, adjudicator for the 1939 Drama Festival of the Women’s Institute, has been 'associated with the amateur stage since she was 12 years of age. She was a student of dramatic art and dancing in the J. C. Williamson School, Sydney, under the wellknown Mr Andrew McCunn. Miss Webster also studied in London, while she was private secretary to a West End producer. She has done little professional dramatic work, but prefers the enjoyment of amateur productions, because, as she says, “it is not such a racket.”

Discussing last night’s performance, Miss Webster said she was disappointed that players had not approached her afterwards for individual criticism or points of stagecraft. “If players will come to me afterwards, I will be only too happy to give them what advice I can.” Miss Webster said.
