At last night’s meeting of the New Zealand Centennial Games Committee, arrangements for the relaying of a message of goodwill from the Maori race to the Governor-General at the opening of the Centennial Games were completed. The message, which will be on parchment, and in an appropriate container, will be brought from Waitangi to the opening ceremony on the Auckland Domain. Eighteen runners will take part, the final runner being a member of the Maori race. The sub-committee reported that the relays would be held from Waitangi to Whangarei, from Whangarei to Warkworth, and from Warkworth to Auckland.
