Sows Sell At 10Gns. At Ruakaka

Walter Wakelin reports having held a very successful sale of pedigree and grade pigs at Ruakaka yesterday. The advertised pedigree Berkshire pigs sold on Account of Mr J. McEwan met with keen competition, buyers being present from throughout Northland. Top price was 10 guineas, paid by Mr B. Ormandy, Mangapai, for a Berkshire sow. Buyers from Waimate North paid to nine guineas for sows, while other prices for sows ranged from sgns to Bgns. Boars sold from 2£gns to sgns. Store pigs sold up to £1 10/6; slips, to £1 6/; weaners, 16/3 to £1 3/9; grade sows, to £5. Springing heifers, £6 5/.
