Arrests in Danzig Believed to Reveal Anti-Nazi Plot

LONDON, July 13. npHE WARSAW CORRESPONDENT OF THE “DAILY TELEGRAPH” SAYS A THAT SEVEN MEN WERE ARRESTED BY FREE CITY POLICE IN DANZIG IN LIGHTNING RAIDS ON A HOUSE IN WHICH ARMS AND EXPLOSIVES ARE REPORTED TO HAVE BEEN DISCOVERED.

Most of the men are members of the Social Democratic Party, which the Nazis recently dissolved and made illegal.

It is unofficially reported that Danzig has been told to continue preparations. and that a positive development may shortly be expected.

Funds For Poland.

The “Daily Telegraph” says that a military and economic agreement between Britain and Poland is imminent, under which Britain and France respectively would provide £5,000,000 and £3,500,000 for a fund to strengthen Polish finances and enable her to maintain her army in a state of mobilisation.

Britain, in addition will provide a crbdit of £8,000,000 to purchase war and raw materials.

Danzig Apologies.

A Danzig message says the Senate apologised for the Danzig secret police arresting the Brazilian Charge d’Affaires in Poland, and the Consul in Gydnia for taking photographs while sight-seeing in the city. They were bundled into the police van and detained for two hours. The Consul’s camera was confiscated.
