Woman Sees Sea Serpent
TSpectat to “Northern Advocate ”] NELSON, This Day.
A sea serpent has again been seen by a launch party of! Pepin Island, Cable Bay, but on this occasion it was not a large fearsome monster, but a small r object not more than eight feet long. The creature was seen by Mrs E. E. Kawharu, of D’Urville Island. She said yesterday that when first seen the creature was some distance from the launch, and about a chain and a half from the shore, basking in the sunshine.
It was thought to bo a piece of driftwood, but as the launch drew near a small head with very tiny ears could be seen protruding about two feet out of the Water. The head appeared to be covered with a growth of hair. Curled over its back was a tail, about four feet long, fish-tail shape at the tip. The launch got within 15 yards before the creature dived.
