A debate was held under the auspices of the Victoria College Debating Society in Wellington last night, between Dr. D. G. McMillan, M.P. (Government) and Mr S. G. Holland, M.P. (Opposition), on the subject; “That the Labour Government merits the continued confidence of the people of New Zealand.”

The vote of the audience and the students combined, totalling 350, was in favour of the motion. On the students’ vote alone the motion was carried by 100 to 81.
