The Ace gelding Royal Fawkes displayed some of his track form by running second to Star Vaal in the Waihi Handicap at Paeroa last week, and on that performance will not be neglected by backers at Tauranga this weekend. G. Henderson has taken a lot of trouble to develop this gelding, and it looks as if he will soon be rewarded.

NOT FOB TAURANGA. The promising filly Orally has developed a slight lameness, and P. Corrigan states that she will be unable to keep her engagements at Tauranga this week-end. This is unfortunate, as Orally has been working well and appeared certain to pick up an early stake. t’#. :

GOOD RIDING BY H. N, WIGGINS. The Auckland rider H. N. Wiggins rode four winners at Trentham last week, as well as two seconds and one third, in ten rides.
