The North Auckland. Farmers’ Coop. Ltd., reports Waving held a sale of cattle and pigs at Kaikohe this week, a sheep fair being also conducted in conjunction with the ordinary sale. Prices were on a par with late rates, all battle suitable for sending to the works meeting with keen competition. Young steers and other good qu'ality young stock wore in demand within certain limits only, and did not in every case meet vendors’ ex-
pectations. Dairy cattle were in small supply and met with a good inquiry. . No prime ox were yarded,
Cattle: Good quality prime cows made up to £6; medium sorts, £4 10/ to £5 10/; lighter, £3 15/ to £4; 31year Shorthorn steers, £4 15/ to £5 5/; good quality 20-month steers, Hereford and Polled Angus, to £3 15/; other sorts, coloured. 30/ to £2. Dairy stock.— Dairy cows and heifers made from £4 10/ to £G.
Pigs.—Weaners, 3/ to 8/; slips, to
Sheep.—Four-tooth wethers, to 14/; two-tooth store wethers, 12/6 to 13/G; five-year ewes, to 15/; aged ewts, 5/to 8/; medium Romney lambs, 9/1.
The King's Prize in Victoria was won by Mr H. G. James, of Sydney, with 389, which is a record for the Victorian competition, says a message from Melbourne.
