The annual sports contests between Whangarei' High School and Mt. Albert Grammar School opened yesterday.
Grammar avenged their cricket defeat at Whangarei last year, winning by an innings on the first day.
Swimming events between pupils of the two schools were held in the Mt. Eden Baths this morning, and after- 1 wards the boys visited Eden Park for | the match between Sir Julien Cahn’s cricket team and the Auckland representatives. Rifle shooting- matches will be conducted at Penrose tomorrow. Mt, Albert Grammar Wins Swimming. In the swimming contests held this morning, between Mt. Albert Grammar School and Whangarei High School, the Aucklanders won by 34 points to 32; Two teams of four each represented the Whangarei School, these being a junior and a senior team.
